Spider Mother is like a boss. They are big, strong and do high jumps. If a Spider Mother aim at you, the only way to escape is to be between it and some obstacle. You can run but if you reach a long distance from it, the spider will do a high jump and will fall right next to you, so don't run, it is not a better idea. If a spider is hunting you and you are at middle distance from it, spider will not move, but it will stay still looking at you throwing firewebs at you. Firewebs are configurable at config file and each fireweb can leave cobwebs where it hits the floor/wall or only if it hits you.

Spiders don't take any damage when falling, does not matter how higher it fell.
 

How to tame:

You need to make the spider to stay still (don't move in a space of 3 blocks N,S,E or W), for 30 seconds. After this, the spider will try to escape, and you need to keep it caged for more 30 seconds and again for more 30 seconds. When you see spider's front legs raised, this means that it is ready to receive the magma cream. Give it one magma cream (throw a magma cream near the spider), and wait until spider gets it. Throw another magma cream and another (total of 3 items). After the 3rd magma item, spider will become tamed.
Tamed spiders will not defend themselves against other mobs, they will stay still. So you need to keep your spider in a safe place.
 

Jumps:

Your tamed spider will jump if you press space. This is a standard jump and it is very high. There is another jump that you can execute while mounting the spider, it is lower but you can jump very forward. To do this jump, you just need to hold a string while jumping. Try it, it is very cool and can save your life while evading.
You can climb walls while mounting the spider.
 

Healing:

While mounting, attack pigs, chickens and cows. This will heal your spider a little. It is not possible to heal without mounting. 
 

Armor:

Yes, armor! You can put armors on your spider to reduce damage taken.
 

PvP:

If you enable this option in config file, you can use your spider to attack other players and other tamed spiders. This can be very exciting when you are in a battle!
 

LostWorld Torches:

LostWorld torches are used to hypnotize Mini Spiders, but Spider Mother will try to destroy the torches to free its friends. hahaha!
 

Killing Spider Mother:

When you kill a spider Mother, it will drop an item depending on spider biome type.
Killing a spider Mother is dangerous because it will drop another five hunters spiders. You can't freeze these kind of spiders using LostWorld Torches, and they will hunt you while a special spider dropped too will run away from you. You can identify it because it is black and it has redstone dust flowing from it. You need to run and kill this spider because if you didn't, it will grow to a new spider mother.

If you manage to kill this special spider, it will drop a random special item and this item can be enchanted! What you are waiting for !?!? Lets kill those Spiders!
