Chest Mob do not spawn as normal mobs do. Sometimes a new normal chest will spawn randomly through the world and caves. When you try to open the chest, there is a chance that it will turn into a Chest Mob or not. If it turns into a mob, you need to kill it to get the items inside the chest. But sometimes, you will get nothing form inside it... this is all random things.
